About Us

Getting in shape shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. At The Pilates Effect, we believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness are worth the challenge. We have developed training regimes for all levels of people, and our instructors are constantly adapting programs to fit the needs of our clients.

The Pilates Effect is a fully equipped Pilates Studio dedicated to the overall well-being of our clients. We are located in the heart of Arlington, minutes from downtown at the Shoppes at Brownstone Village, 2410 West Abram suite 112.

Our goal is to increase our client's quality of life and to develop all muscles, transforming their body to the fullest, achieving personal fitness goals, and improve their everyday physical lifestyle. When you only focus on the superficial larger muscle groups, you may be neglecting so many of the deep muscular stabilizers beneath that are not being developed or utilized.

By concentrating on these muscles using the Pilates principles, over time you will create stronger, leaner muscles, improving posture, increasing core strength, mobility, and stability creating benefits you will see in your everyday life.

Pilates is your answer to a healthier way of fitness and lifestyle!

Cami Grasher

OWNER/INSTRUCTOR

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Cami holds a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Arlington. Upon graduating in 1990, she raised her two daughters as a busy stay at home mom. Always highly active, Cami longed for a physical fitness program to fulfill her time and exercise goals. She turned to Pilates in 2008 and practiced up to four days a week as a student at a small studio. She recognized the value of Pilates inside the studio as a student and outside the studio in her overall health improvement and with regard to everyday activities. Discovering this overall amazing way of life, her passion for Pilates grew and lead her to a STOTT PILATES® certification.

Cami lives in Arlington and enjoys working with all clients of all fitness levels from novice to advanced. She connects well with her clients, and, known as a stickler for proper form, Cami's sessions will always teach you something new about your body and your practice that will also serve you well outside the studio in any other fitness you enjoy. She engages all clients to reach a more comfortable and confident idea of themselves while also providing motivation to constantly challenge them in reaching their goals.

Helen Burnell

INSTRUCTOR

Helen has a particular passion for Pilates, enjoying personal practice for the past 15 years, and pursuing ongoing studies in the STOTT PILATES® method. Helen saw the immediate benefits of Pilates in her muscular development, flexibility, and the postural alignment of her body during her early years, and is pleased to be able to share these benefits with others. Helen joined The Pilates Effect in 2017 and enjoys leading others in the practice.

Helen sees Pilates as an amazing system for increasing strength, flexibility, and balance while minimizing the chance of injury. Principles of the method can be incorporated into her client’s daily lives as well as into any other fitness activity or sport. Her clients encompass all ages and abilities, including those challenged by injuries or permanent disabilities, athletes looking for continued strength, or those that just want to feel good again.

Helen invites you to join her on a journey of strengthening the body, energizing the mind, and enlivening the spirit. “The fountain of youth only works if you drink the water. Come join me, and love your life again!”

Pamela Edmission

INSTRUCTOR

Pamela was introduced to PILATES in 2018 while living in Maui.

“A friend of mine coached me through my first Pilates session on a reformer and it was life-changing! I knew before our first session was over that I was hooked forever by this method of fluid movements, core strengthening focus, and body conditioning exercises."

Pamela has a history of being a long-distance runner, white water kayaker, and venturous outdoor guide and had had several recurring shoulder, low back, and neck injuries. Up to that point, Pamela found that, by practicing Pilates, she could rehabilitate her body in a way that was not possible before.

"I grow more and more passionate about continuing to teach Pilates as it has been a means to serve others by bringing them into a place of wholeness, wellness, and health through the mind, body, and soul."
