About Us
Getting in shape shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. At The Pilates Effect, we believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness are worth the challenge. We have developed training regimes for all levels of people, and our instructors are constantly adapting programs to fit the needs of our clients.
The Pilates Effect is a fully equipped Pilates Studio dedicated to the overall well-being of our clients. We are located in the heart of Arlington, minutes from downtown at the Shoppes at Brownstone Village, 2410 West Abram suite 112.
Our goal is to increase our client's quality of life and to develop all muscles, transforming their body to the fullest, achieving personal fitness goals, and improve their everyday physical lifestyle. When you only focus on the superficial larger muscle groups, you may be neglecting so many of the deep muscular stabilizers beneath that are not being developed or utilized.
By concentrating on these muscles using the Pilates principles, over time you will create stronger, leaner muscles, improving posture, increasing core strength, mobility, and stability creating benefits you will see in your everyday life.

Cami Grasher
OWNER/INSTRUCTOR
Born and raised in Fort Worth and a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, Cami Grasher has spent the better part of two decades doing what she loves most: helping people move better, and live without pain. What started as a personal discovery became a professional calling, and has grown into one of the most distinctive and comprehensive movement and health practices in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In 2008, Cami walked into a small studio as a student looking for a physical fitness practice that could keep up with her active life. She began practicing up to four days a week and discovered a method that did not just change how her body felt inside the studio but how it functioned in everything else she did. She started to understand that Pilates is a system for teaching the body how to move the way it was designed to. She earned her STOTT PILATES® credential and has been teaching and building a practice and reputation in the Arlington community.
Cami currently serves as the official Pilates instructor for the Dallas Wings WNBA professional basketball team, bringing her movement expertise to elite female athletes whose careers depend on performance, recovery, and physical longevity at the highest level of professional sport with an emphasis on prevention. Working at that level requires a depth of understanding about how the body moves under load, how it recovers from demand, and how to build the kind of foundational strength and mobility that protects an athlete across an entire season and beyond.
At The Pilates Effect she is known among her clients as a stickler for proper form, and for good reason: proper form is not perfectionism. It is protection. It is the difference between an exercise that builds the body and one that quietly damages it over time. Every session at The Pilates Effect will teach you something new about how your body moves, something that will serve you inside the studio and in every other physical activity you enjoy outside of it.
Cami connects deeply with her clients. She sees what their bodies are doing, understands why, and knows how to meet them exactly where they are while consistently challenging them toward where they can go. She specializes in therapeutic Pilates for clients managing arthritis, chronic pain, osteoporosis, injury rehabilitation, and post-surgical recovery. She works with clients who have been told by other practitioners that exercise is not an option for them. In her experience, it almost always is.
What separates Cami from most movement professionals is the depth of clinical knowledge she brings to the studio floor. As a Root Cause Holistic Health Coach and Certified Traditional Naturopath, she understands the hormonal, neurological, gut, and inflammatory factors that affect how the body moves, recovers, responds to training, and ages. She understands why a perimenopausal woman's body responds differently to Pilates than it did ten years ago, and what to do about it. She understands the connection between gut health and chronic muscle tension, between hormonal imbalance and persistent joint pain, between sleep quality and recovery capacity.
Cami also publishes a widely read monthly health newsletter and writes extensively about the research connecting movement, nutrition, hormonal health, and functional medicine to real-world outcomes for real people. Her writing is known for being honest, research-grounded, and refreshingly direct about the things the mainstream health conversation tends to avoid.
Cami lives in Arlington with a life that reflects everything she teaches. She is active daily, practices Pilates regularly, and brings the same commitment to her own health that she brings to her clients. She is a licensed real estate agent and property investor in the DFW area, and outside the studio she can often be found teaching, writing, or finding new ways to connect the dots between the science of human health and the practical reality of living well in a body that is always changing.
She raised two daughters as a stay at home mom before building a career that now spans Pilates instruction, naturopathic health coaching, professional sports, and health education.

Helen Burnell
INSTRUCTOR
Helen has a particular passion for Pilates, enjoying personal practice for the past 15 years, and pursuing ongoing studies in the STOTT PILATES® method. Helen saw the immediate benefits of Pilates in her muscular development, flexibility, and the postural alignment of her body during her early years, and is pleased to be able to share these benefits with others. Helen joined The Pilates Effect in 2017 and enjoys leading others in the practice.

Helen sees Pilates as an amazing system for increasing strength, flexibility, and balance while minimizing the chance of injury. Principles of the method can be incorporated into her client’s daily lives as well as into any other fitness activity or sport. Her clients encompass all ages and abilities, including those challenged by injuries or permanent disabilities, athletes looking for continued strength, or those that just want to feel good again.

Helen invites you to join her on a journey of strengthening the body, energizing the mind, and enlivening the spirit. “The fountain of youth only works if you drink the water. Come join me, and love your life again!”

Helen grew up, and continues to live in the DFW area with her husband and children, and when she finds the time, she loves to read, spend time with friends and family, and travel.
